Culture Worth Striving For

By: Jeff Gaus

At Provenance Chain Network (PCN), we know that most people leave their jobs due to a toxic company culture—around 3 out of 5 workers, myself included (FlexJobs, 2024). That’s why we’re intentional about the culture we’re building here at PCN.

Our culture is grounded in core values: intentionality, serendipity, empathy, audacity, and integrity. These aren’t just words on a wall; they’re the foundation of how we operate everyday. As Peter Drucker once famously said, "Culture eats strategy for breakfast," and here at PCN, I couldn’t agree more.

Culture isn’t just a talking point; it’s something we actively cultivate. A remarkable 85% of PCN employees say their personal values align with ours, which is a stat you’d expect from nonprofits, not corporations. Intentionality drives every decision we make, and we back it up with measurable results.

Serendipity is a north star for PCN. Magic happens when you pay attention to the world around you, and that’s where innovation comes from. It’s this openness that has shaped our journey and helped us build a company that’s ready to adapt and thrive in the face of change.

Empathy is equally critical. It's not just about understanding one another—it’s about ensuring everyone feels valued. Currently, 92% of our employees feel appreciated. We accommodate different working styles and the complexities of life, especially for parents, because we know that when people feel supported, they perform better.

Audacity pushes us to challenge the status quo. We’re not afraid to be bold, pushing limits and taking risks others wouldn’t. That's how we’ve been able to punch above our weight class and achieve what others thought impossible.

And then there’s integrity—the cornerstone of our trust-building mission. Every day, at every level, we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards. It’s the way we do business.

Our culture is everything at PCN. It's designed to endure, regardless of who’s leading the company—even me. We’ve built something that’s bigger than all of us, with 100% of our team feeling that their contributions matter to the overall mission.

At PCN, we make daily strides toward our goal of transparency and trust in the supply chain, fostering the same values of integrity within our culture. The dedication and passion of our team have been instrumental in bringing us to where we are today.

If you're seeking to be part of something bigger, we invite you to explore what's possible with us.
